Vaelryn

Okay, I haven't really updated anything in awhile, so I figured I'd throw this up.

It's really just a tiny quarter-sized doodle on my science notes, but he ended up turning into a character over at Dark Moon Weyr ([link]) So I scanned him in and colored him. Originally I was trying to outline him and then color him, but it didn't work so I just colored the messy sketch.

His name is Vaelryn, and he's the son of some wine makers on Pern (Vintyrs, I think they're called). He really loves the wine craft, and he thinks that his family's wine is better than Benden White. He's also going to be searched into a candidate at Dark Moon.

He's also going to be a challenge for me, you know, as a writer. Because I decided to finally go and push myself and try (try really hard) to have a gay character. So I'm going to ease my way into that with Vael; he doesn't know he's gay yet. I'm just really hoping I can actually get the character right, and that I won't have to back out and have him go "oh hey guys, just kidding, i'm not gay afterall."

I'm procrastinating. I'm gonna stop rambling now and go do work.

OH AND SPIT. I'M REALLY SORRY ABOUT NOT COLORING YOUR PICTURE YET. I'M A LAZY PROCRASTINATING COLLEGE STUDENT. And I forgot my tablet when I went home over christmas break. Sorryagain.
